You know what annoys me? People thinking Sirius mistook Harry for James. And that wretched "Nice one, James!" from the movies.

Sirius? Think Harry is James? BAH.

He saw James' dead body. He was there, that night. He saw James lying limp in the doorway, eyes blank and glasses broken. He saw Lily, dead in front of his crying godson's crib, saw the destruction wreaked by Voldemort over his brother's house and life. He knew James was dead. He'd seen the dead body.

We are told several times that Sirius only remained sane in Azkaban because he knew James was dead, and that was not a happy thought. So why the ever loving fuck, would he mistake Harry for James? Why would he think Harry— his very much alive godson and very much a young boy— is James, his dead best friend and brother?

HE WOULD NOT.

Stop spreading these lies, honestly. And fuck the movies for making Sirius' last words "Nice one, James".

I can rant about this for years and the salt still won't get out of my system.

Movies absolutely ruined Sirius' character with that simple sentence ( nice one, James! ) . It practically torn everything Sirius had done for Harry as his godfather apart, making the reader think that the loss and Azkaban had made him confuse James and Harry.

It is OFFENSIVE.

It is offensive to Sirius and his efforts to keep his godson safe and to his friendship with James and the strong bond they had through the years.

I am not sure why some people insist on this concept. Sirius Black kept his sanity in Azkaban for years and managed to escape for his godson to protect him. He would not mistake Harry for his (unfortunately) very much dead father.
